Second, I don't know if this story has ever come up on Rattie Corner, although I'm sure it has, so if you've already heard it feel free to skip past it. (I know Tale has heard it.)
We had a music loving rat. Her name was Rat. She and J shared a love of classic rock, but Rat had one special favorite band. Whenever J would put one of this band's records on, Rat would snuggle up to the side of the cage closest to the speakers and start bruxing. Within a minute or so, she would start boggling and soon after, her head would start bobbing. And she would bob her head in time with the bass rhythm for the entire record and look hurt and disappointed when the record was finished. If she was feeling stressed or unwell, playing this music was a way to relax her and she always appeared to feel better while listening to it. So, what was this music that could make a grown rat head-bob?
Rat was a Deadhead.*
Oh, yes. Jerry Garcia was her favorite and she loved every song on every album. We were always so proud to have a rat who could discern her favorite band from all the rest.
The reason I bring this up, is as fun as it was to watch Rat bobbing along, she has got nothing on Snowball. Check it out...
Finally, after a weekend where we almost reached 80 degrees, and which I thoroughly enjoyed because it is May and May means warm weather, I couldn't believe it when the weather report for today read "59 degrees- Refreshingly Cool". I don't want "refreshingly cool" unless it's in the form of a frosty beverage. I want warm weather!
Hope everyone has a great week!
*If you're not aware, although I'm sure you are, a Deadhead is a Grateful Dead fan.
